Stories

Through Campus Community Conversations, we hope to teach Bruins that the goal of dialogue is not to achieve harmony but rather to deepen our understanding of one another and enhance our ability to hear others. The resulting empathy and comprehension can transform polarization into productive exchange across our campus community
David Myers
Distinguished Professor and Sady and Ludwig Kahn Chair in Jewish History in the College and Director of the UCLA Luskin Center for History and Policy

Student resilience is built through connection. By providing safe judgment-free spaces for difficult dialogues, we ensure every Bruin feels heard, supported and emotionally equipped to navigate today’s challenges.
Nicole Presley
Senior Executive Director of UCLA Student Resilience and Mental Health Services
Host a conversation
To be considered a CCC event, a program should meet the following criteria:
- Participants include members of the UCLA community as a primary audience.
- Should have at least one of the following purposes/outcomes:
- Increase connection and build community between Bruins or between Bruins and the broader Los Angeles community.
- Support community healing, processing, conflict resolution, morale and inclusion.
- Foster dialogue across differences; build skills for engaging across lines of difference.
- Generate pathways for Bruins to talk about and/or contribute to organizational, institutional or departmental culture.
- Public programs that model these values and spark connection among Bruins.
We believe that by working together, we can amplify these vital conversations across campus. Please let us know if you have any events to share by completing this Google form. Someone from our team will be in touch.
