UCLA’s Office of the Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost surveys Senate Faculty to solicit input on creating a UCLA Institute for the Future of Los Angeles, which also gathers data on current L.A-focused teaching and research.

Stimulus funding is awarded to support new community-engaged teaching and research: 10 grants to faculty to develop new undergraduate, graduate and professional school courses; 5 awards to academic departments to build their capacity to support community-engaged teaching and their community partners; and 23 grants to interdisciplinary teams of faculty to develop new social impact research partnerships.
